Meet Our Team
Visiting Scholar- Spring 2026
Shaykh Arsalan Haque (Visting Scholar- Spring 2026) was born in Pakistan and raised in College Station, Texas. He graduated from Texas A&M University in 2001 with a bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry. After working for a few years in Houston, he traveled to Damascus, where he studied the Arabic language and other Islamic sciences for two years. In 2007, he moved to Cairo to further his pursuit of the sacred sciences, and graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the College of Sharia at al-Azhar University. During his stay in the Middle East, he was blessed to study with scholars from all over the world, including Syria, Egypt, Yemen, and the Indian subcontinent, receiving teaching licenses [ijazat] from them in Quranic Recitation, Hadith, Shafii Fiqh, Usul al-Fiqh, and Tasawwuf.
After returning to the United States in 2013, he served in multiple communities including the Muslim Community of Troy, the Islamic Association of Allen and the Islamic Association of Collin County and Director of Taqwa Seminary. He currently serves as an instructor at Darul Qasim DFW branch. He is married with three sons and one daughter.
Faizan Majid is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master’s degree in Counseling Education from the University of Houston. Faizan has extensive experience working as a mental health professional in various Islamic schools across Houston and Dallas. He has led numerous programs aimed at teachers, students, middle/high school youth, and parents, emphasizing the intersection of mental health and Islam.
Faizan is passionate about youth initiatives, and focusing on mental health projects within the Muslim community. He enjoys the intersection of Islam and Psychology and hopes to use this intersection as a means of helping others through difficulty while connecting them to Allah. Faizan has his own Texas based private practice called SimplySukoon and also works as a coach for Ihsan Coaching.
Rabiah Kafray Mehdi completed her Bachelors at Texas A&M University. Rabiah taught and served as an academic counselor in Islamic Schools prior to pursuing her Masters in Mental Health Counseling at TAMU-Commerce and is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate supervised by Abida Minhas LPC-S at The Impact Counselors where she works with people of all ages to support them through life’s many transitions.
Rabiah’s time in College Station was transformative, and helps her to relate to the unique situations of Muslims in America. She is passionate about empowering Muslim girls and women to understand and improve their mental health and find security in their faith.
